Eagle Season Cruises

Eagle Cruises (Nov. – Mar.)

Nov. 15th through the end of Feb. is the time of year Eagles return to Lake Buchanan and the Colorado River. Some folks come out with the expectation of seeing nesting eagles. That’s not the case here – the region is the winter feeding and breeding grounds for these migrating birds. Nesting pairs have been reported in the area though.

Every cruise we take out is a quest to find these birds in their natural habitat. After 35 yrs. we have become very proficient at finding them along our cruise routes. We also depend on our guests to help us out along the way.

Thanks to fluctuating water levels on Lake Buchanan and the Highland Lakes River Chain at times we may be forced to alter or cancel cruises to accommodate the current level.  We will make every attempt to contact you if this becomes the case for the cruise you have booked.

“Our water levels over the course of time have their own rhythm and dance,”  We’ve created cruises to fit most levels.  Some cruises are only available during certain water levels, i.e. The Blufton cruise is only offered when our lake levels are extremely low.
